Ch Gucci, Alex & Ch Bini

Sashal is a Kennel Club registered affix owned by Jan & daughter Alex Friar. We can be found in North Wales on the Flintshire/Denbighshire border and in North East Lincolnshire. We are not a commercial kennel.

We have owned, shown and (in more recent years) worked German Wirehaired Pointers since 1995. We are immensely proud of the achievements with our GWPs since 1995 and are grateful for being entrusted with our GWPs.

We have had great fun in the showring, qualifying for Crufts each year and winning multiple CCs, RCCs and Best of Breed awards at Championship shows. We have also taken Top Awards at Breed Championship/Speciality shows.

All the dogs are handled by Alex who has also handled GWPs, Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla, an English Setter and a Gordon Setter to Top Awards in the showring.

In recent years Alex has become increasingly involved in the working side of GWPs and has handled our GWPs to two Show Gundog Working Certificates, Guns Awards a Working Test Novice win and Novice Field Trial award (2nd place).

Cocker Spaniels where reintroduced into our family in 2002. Although some of our Cockers have been shown and we have won Championship places, BP/BOB awards at open shows with them they are very much family companions. We are proud that our Cockers have gone to excellent homes where their good type and temperament has been appreciated – infact for some wanting more than one Cocker they own multiple ‘Sashals’ and have recommended their friends to us. Cockers we have bred are PAT (Pets as Therapy) dogs, we have bred a DogAid Seizure Alert dog and a number have passed their Kennel Club Good Citizen Awards.

We are passionate about the health and welfare of both our breeds and are dogs are health tested (by DNA test where applicable) before they are bred from. Although we are not breeding GWPs currently, we only GWP recommend litters where the parents have been health tested.
